About the Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre.

Here I talks about short stories of Edgar Allan Poe. It teach by Dr. Jay mehta in my class at department of English.

1.Read the first Gujarati story and listen to the audio recitation of the second story. Observe how the two wordsmiths work wonders through words! 

- I read the first Gujarati story and listen the audio recitation of second story. The Gujarati story ' mansangh' is horror suspenseful story. It was written by jayant khatri. It is pure Gujarati story. The story begins with dark night and the author used very horrible words. While reading the story readers feels horror situation.so we can say that the story explain in very iteinterest ing way and author created fearful situation. So I think there are no any sound only words explain all expression.



2. List out various adjectives that contribute the most in creating the "pre-established design" or effect that the author intended to create.

Ans. : I find some adjective in this story.
- અંધારી રાત
- સાકડ શેરી, 
- ઘોઘરો અવાજ,  
- ધુમાડીયુ કાળુ ફાનસ 
- કુંવારી દીકરી
- ખુલ્લુ આકાશ
- તીણી ચીસ
- તોફાની દ્શ્યો
- અશાન્ત સ્વપ્ન


3.Which are the phrases you find frightening? How are they placed in the text?

 Ans. : I find some frightening phrases in this story :
- અંધારી રાત
- બંગડી અવાજ
- કૂતરાનો રડવા નો અવાજ
-  પવનના સુસવાટા
- દીવા ના પ્રકાશ થી પડછાયો હલવો.


4. Can you find out any other lexical varieties such as figures of speech like simile, metaphor, personification etc? Briefly explain their significance in the story.

Ans. :  While reading the story I found some use of figurative language in this story,“ હસવાનો અવાજ જાણે ભરેલી ગાગર ઠલવાઈ. ”મે જોયુ તો માનસંઘની દષ્ટિ શૂન્ય બની ગ્ઈ,.”, “આંખો વાઘ ને તણખા ઝરતી”,
“ડોક ના સતરસો વલાક”


5.What is the impact of listening  to the stories on your mind? Which Rasas/emotions erupt in you during and after the reading/listening sessions?

 Ans. : Listening the story is better than reading the story. While reading and listening both story I felt Bhaya rasa, vir rasa and Karun rasa.
