Dr. Balaji Rangnathan's lecture on post colonial studies

Here I want to share my experience about lecture of respect sir, dr. Balaji Rangnathan
We have guest lectures on Postcolonial studies by Balaji Ranganathan. He teach us in very interesting way And I would like to special thanks to him.


post-colonial studies paper's units:-

In the first day lecture he teach us about first unit Black skin white mask by Frantz Fanon.  He explain post-colonial studies and it's various points.

Chapters of the first unit

• The Negro and language
• The woman of colour and white man
•  The man of colour and white woman
• The So-called dependency complex of the colonized
• The lived experience of the black man
• The Black man and psychology
• The Black man and Recognition

He explains important points like...

• Towards a new humanism....
• understanding among men...
• our coloured brothers...
• mankind, I believe in you...
• Race prejudice...
• To understand and To love...

He taught us new idea of thinking desire  word connect with lack. And also told us binary is a kind of problem to understand postcoloniality.Race as, It is discourse of studies – The white man is sealed in his whiteness. And the Black man is his blackness.
He explain different between...
•  castism
•  Racism
Criticism and racism are different discourse in postcolonial studies.

The first three chapters talk about the Modern Negro. 5th chapters something about the Blackness.The 2nd chapter - relation between the colour of woman and the European. Sir Balaji explain that the The Negro and psychopathology, like mostly people have prejudice Then he explain the last chapter in very interesting way and then he conclude first unit. I enjoyed that lecture very much and I learnt various things very clearly.

In next day lectures Balaji sir explain Orientalism by Edward Said and  A Tempest by Amie Cesaire. First he explain what is Orientalism? And what is meaning of
Orient? Orientalism by Edward Said is divided into chapters..

1)  The Scope of Orientalism
2)  Orientalist structure and Restructures
3)  Orientalism Now

Next he talked about “ A Tempest” by Amie Cesaire and Explain Identity, Colonial resiontion ,Appropriation of Language, Term of Rebellion. In the last lecture sir talked on last unit Imaginary Homeland by Salman Rushidie. He explains this unit with interesting example and also talked about writer Salman Rushdie.
