Thinking activity of paradise lost

Paradise lost by John Milton

Paradise Lost is an epic poem in blank verse by the 17th-century English poet John Milton. The first version, published in 1667, consisted of ten books with over ten thousand lines of verse. A second edition followed in 1674, arranged into twelve books with minor revisions throughout and a note on the versification.

Main character

• Eve
• Adam
• Satan

My answer is here,

1) write a critical note on character of Eve.

Character of Eve is more attractive than Adam, but she is not intellectually strong than Adam. She is beloved of Adam.she is responsible for  disobedience and thus fall of man.

she is seduced by Satan and to touch and taste the fruit of the tree of knowledge.she is main and central character in Book IX.

She is made by God and from Adam's rib  and most beautiful women and Milton'  paradise lost .Eve is more beautiful and attractive female character in Book IX.

We can see this lines Eve and Adam's arguments

"If this be our condition, thus to dwell in narrow circuit straitened by foe, subtle or violent, we not endued single with like defence whenever met, How are we happy, still in fear of harm? But harm precedes not sin:only our for Tempteng affronted us with his foul esteem"

Here, Million describes Eve's character is rebellious, her argues with Adam , asking as question against Adam " how we are happy, still in fear of harm?" Make her different and represents feminist perspective strong, but in Bible's Eve describ week than paradise lost Eve.

We can see that paradise lost's Eve different than Bible's Eve.

2) Whose argument did you find more convincing?

According to me Eve's argument more powerful and convincing in paradise lost Book IX. When Satan tries to convince her for eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge that time she is not easily accepted anything.she ask the quistion to satan. And second Eve tries to convince to Adam to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge.

Eve says that,
"This tree is not, as we are told ,a tree
Of danger tasted, nor to evil unknown
Opening the way, but of divine effect
To open eyes and make them gods who taste: and hath been tasted such"

We can see that she tries to convince to Adam to eat the fruit of knowledge.so I found Eve's argument more strong and convincing in paradise lost Book IX.

3) How do you look at divine perspective in genesis of the Bible  and human perspective in John Milton's  paradise lost Book IX?

I found the differences between holy Bible and Milton's paradise lost Book IX because we can see that in Milton's book IX eve is central character while in Bible God is central character.

Then in book IX Shawn love of Eve and Adam.

while in Bible Shawn religious perspective.so these are defferencces between them.

The Butterfly poem by Arun Kolatker

Here I discuss about  a poem is a literary form composed in verse. It normally gives account of personal feelings, emotions and imagination. The poem The Butterfly There is no story behind it. It is split like a second. It hinges around itself. It has no future. It is pinned down to no past. It’s a pun on the present. It’s a little yellow butterfly. It has taken these wretched hills under its wings. Just a pinch of yellow, it opens before it closes and closes before it o where is it. When I was in B.A I studied various poems. For example The Butterfly which was written by  Arun Kolatkar, an Indian poet wrote about the place- Jejuri, a temple town. Jejuri is a poor place and the hills in Jejuri show the barrenness of the place. His style is simple (English) in contrast with Mahapatra where he uses English and his ideas very effectively. Whatever he sees in Jejury they have a story of their own. The poet says there is no story behind the butterfly, the very being...
